FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Dr. Pets is manufactured at our own ISO, GMP and HACCP-certified
facility in Kanota, Jaipur. Not outsourced, not white-labelled. We
control what goes in, how it's cooked and how it's sealed.
The label declares "Chicken and Chicken Products (Dehydrated)"; the site says fresh-chicken-first. Both can't be true. No ingredient order and no percentage goes live until this is settled.
Fillers bulk out a bag cheaply without adding nutrition. Every ingredient in our recipes is doing a job — protein for muscle, fat
for energy and coat, fibre for digestion.
Not a European recipe adapted for India. Built here, for dogs living in Indian homes and Indian weather.
Grain-free matters if your dog has a diagnosed grain intolerance.
For most dogs, good grains are a fine energy source. Protein quality
matters far more. If your vet has diagnosed a sensitivity, follow
them first.
"Human grade" has no legal definition in India, so anyone can print
it. We'd rather point you to things that do mean something — our
facility is ISO, GMP and HACCP certified, and our lab reports are on
the site.
A sudden switch is the most common reason a dog gets an upset
stomach on new food. It's rarely the food itself.
Return to the previous ratio for two or three days until stools firm
up, then move forward slower. If it continues past a few days, or
your dog is off food or vomiting, see your vet.
Every pack carries a feeding chart too. Start there, then adjust:
you should be able to feel your dog's ribs easily without seeing
them.
Under 6 months: three to four small meals. Six to twelve months: two
to three. Adults: morning and evening. Splitting the daily amount is
easier on digestion than one big bowl.
If half the bowl is rice, your dog is getting half the nutrition the
feeding chart assumed. Our Bone Broth and Gravy are made to top a
bowl without unbalancing it.
Puppies need more protein, calories and calcium for growing bones.
Adult food doesn't provide it. Puppy food fed long-term to an adult
adds weight they don't need. Superdawg comes in both for this
reason.
Large dogs grow for longer. Use the same 7-day transition.
It's the meal your dog eats twice a day, every day.
Adds moisture, aroma and palatability. Useful for fussy eaters, dogs
recovering from illness, seniors eating less than they should, and
pets who don't drink enough in summer. For dogs and cats. Chicken,
Fish and Lamb.
Your dog decides before you commit to a full bag. If they turn their
nose up, you've spent very little.
Always check the
pack you're holding — the ingredient list on the pouch is the final
word.
Treats are for training, bonding and dental care. The meal does the
nutritional work. Heavy training session? Take a little off the next
meal.
Bistik is made for chewing and keeping teeth working. Treetos are
easier for puppies, seniors and dogs with dental issues, and better
for training because they're eaten fast. Most homes use both.
A real-chicken treat for training, rewards and daily chewing.
The rest of the range is formulated for dogs.
Made so your dog gets a say before you buy a full bag.
ISO, GMP and HACCP certified. We don't outsource. When you email us
about a batch, you're emailing the people who made it.
You should be able to check our claims, not take our word for them.
Not on a windowsill, next to the stove, or on a damp floor. Once
open, seal the pack properly after every use or move the food to an
airtight container. Keep the original pack so you always have the
batch number and expiry. Never leave a bag open in monsoon humidity.
Photograph the batch number and best-before date and send it to
[EMAIL] or [WHATSAPP]. Because we make our own food, we can trace a
batch back to the day it was made. We'd rather know.
That phrase gets used loosely and it should mean something. What we
can tell you is what's in the food, where it's made and what the lab
reports say. For your dog's specific needs, talk to your vet — no
packaging claim replaces that.
